A Quick Rant
I don’t often rant on this website, but today I am going to.
I don’t go to the movie theater often. A few weeks ago we did bring the kids to see Kung Fu Panda, but the last time we’d gone before that was probably sometime last summer (its been so long I can’t even remember). I have a hard time justifying spending money like that when I can wait a few months and see it much cheaper at home.
This summer there are a few great movies coming out that I’d really like to see. I love Christian Bale and the Dark Knight looks great (I’m just really glad that they got rid of Katie Holmes…for some reason she rubs me the wrong way), Incredible Hulk is supposed to be awesome, and there are a few other movies that look extremely appealing, including Journey to the Center of the Earth.
I probably will not, however, drive to the theater and spend the money to see any of these, for the simple fact that although I really want to see them, I find that I can definitely wait until fall for them to be released on DVD.
The one movie that I have wanted to see for months is, of course, Wanted. And what do I find? None of the theaters around here are playing it. There is one theater that is about 12 miles from me and that has three screens. It’s playing Wall-E, Incredible Hulk, Kung-Fu Panda, and Get Smart. The one that is about a half an hour away is playing Kung-Fu Panda, Get Smart, and Wall-E.
Okay, I said to myself you’ve waited this long, you can wait another week to see it, right?
Next week both are getting in Hancock. And that’s it.
The chances then, my friends, of me being able to see Angelina on the big screen looks to be slim to none.
Sometimes living in rural Vermont is a real pain in the butt.
