Want some good news? The NOLA project is moving forward quite swiftly!

The first of the homes being built by the Make It Right campaign is almost finished! Workers are doing their best to get all of the homes completed, but soon one family will be able to move back into the home they owned that was destroyed just a short time ago.

In a story about the new homes, Gertrude LeBlanc, a 72 years young retired postal worker, talks about the action going on in the Lower 9th Ward, and how she looks forward to old family friends returning, thanks to the Make It Right campaign.

Early last year, LeBlanc was one of the first people to return to this colossally damaged section of the Lower 9, not far from the Industrial Canal levee breach. “When I came back, they put up a banner in the post office near here, saying, ‘Miss Gert’s back. Deliver her mail, ‘ ” she said.

LeBlanc has been keeping close track of who has returned to the neighborhood. Within the next month, she said, mail service also should resume at Make It Right’s six houses, thanks to “the answer to our prayers — Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, ” LeBlanc said.

On her block, two of her longtime neighbors are coming back, thanks to the foundation. As she drinks her coffee in the morning, LeBlanc soon will be able to wave to a woman three lots down, who she has known for decades as Ms. Guy.

LeBlanc and her family also are counting the days until the return of their next-door neighbor Melba Barnes.

“She loves to cook, ” LeBlanc said. “There is nothing Melba can’t cook.”

LeBlanc pointed toward Barnes’ home on stilts. Barnes’ house and the others have solar panels and environmentally “green” amenities, and they look different from what LeBlanc is used to, she said.

Still, she and her neighbors plan to be neighborly, just like the old days, she said.

“We told Melba, ‘Just put that food on a rope and drop it down, ‘ ” LeBlanc said.

According to the Make It Right website, 84 of 150 homes have currently been sponsored. If you can, please remember to make a donation of whatever amount you can afford. Maybe you’re planning on having a yard sale - you can donate the proceeds to the Make It Right foundation. Maybe you’ve got some old DVD’s or games to sell on Ebay. Why not send the money to people who truly need it?

If you’ve been scanning the gossip columns today, you’ve seen a whole lot of coverage about how Rosanne Barr has gone off on not only Jon Voight, but Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Her problem with the duo? That Angelina hasn’t announced to the world who she is going to be voting for in the elections this year.

jon voight your evil spawn angelina jolie and her vacuous hubby brad pitt make about forty million dollars a year in violent psychopathic movies and give away three of it to starving children trying to look as if they give a crap about humanity as they spit out more dunces that will consume more than their fair share and wreck the earth even more. (just sayin’).
Also miss jolie says she likes mccain too and hasn’t decided who to endorse….huh? Aren’t you supposed to be somewhat enlightened, or do you not know that the african daughter you hold in every picture had parents who suffered and died because of the republican party’s worldwide economic assault on africa over the last few decades since reagan? whaaaa…??????!!!! (for that matter, the thai and cambodian sons you are photo’d with weekly too who’s pictures you sell to raise money to help the poor? Their families are victims of America’s right wing military incursions too. Mccain wants to continue with the idea of war for profit…the americans are over that thinking now! They have drugged our troops and lower classes into supporting their oil business atrocities for long enough. We want to save not lose our souls thank you. Now go back to making your movies about women who love to handle big guns that shoot hundreds of people to death. Ps….it might be good for your asian and african children’s self esteem to know you support a brown man for the leader of the free world.)

Dear Ms. Barr,

First of all, can you do me a little favor? The next time you write a post, try using spell check first? Thanks so much.

I am absolutely a woman who believes that you have ever right to speak your mind. You have the right to say who you want to be president, and you have the right to tell people what your opinion is. You also have the right to keep your opinion to yourself.

Maybe Angelina and Brad don’t want the world to know who they are voting for. Maybe they want to focus on their numerous charitable works instead of getting into the political hoopla that causes even the most brilliant of people to develop sudden, horrible migraines. Maybe they want to spend some of their time enjoying their “dunces” and trying to be parents to them, unlike many Hollywood A-listers, and are working on teaching them values and about how to be good people. Maybe they know exactly who they want to vote for, and are just waiting for the elections to come around so that, like normal people, they can place their votes and make their votes count.

Ms. Barr, not everyone has to publicly endorse a presidential candidate. If the average Joe Schmoe has the right to keep his voting opinions to himself, why can’t Angelina and Brad? So what if Angelina likes McCain - I’m not a McCain fan myself, but the last time I checked, people in the United States had the right to vote for whomever THEY felt was most qualified to run the country, not whomever you felt was the most qualified.

Ms. Barr, you absolutely have the right to voice your opinion, just as I have the right to tell you that your opinion stinks.

Also, it came to me that a lot of people have been remarking how much Vivi looks like Shiloh when she was little. What came to me the most when I looked at these pics was how much Angelina looks like Marcheline.

Let me say first that I know how many of you feel about these photos of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and family around Chateau Miraval, and I definitely don’t blame you for feeling that the paparazzi went too far in taking these photos.

That being said, I also feel an obligation to post these photos for those Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fans who long to see photos of the family and to know that they’re all healthy and happy. So I am posting them, but I am putting the photos of the Jolie-Pitt family underneath the cut.

Also, I want to make an argument against the fighting that is going on about how Brad is carrying Shiloh on his lap without a seatbelt. He’s not driving around with her in a BMW or a Ferrari (like Britney Spears did with her son), and he’s not on the highway. He’s driving around their property in a gator. My guess? They’re not going very fast. He’s also doing his best to spend time with more than one child at a time (I think Pax is on the motorcycle, as there are some photos of another child - probably Maddox - riding around on a 4 wheeler behind Brad and Shiloh). Clearly he’s being a very irresponsible parent (read that last sentence sarcastically please).

Also, let me speak now about the cover of the magazine claiming that Brad and Angelina conceived Knox and Vivienne through in-vitro - my question is…so? Who cares if they had to use in-vitro to conceive a child? The idea, however, that Brad wanted it done so that Angelina could conceive a boy is absolutely ridiculous - he already had two sons - now he’s got three!

Looks like Brad is getting frustrated by the paparazzi. While the actor normally keeps quiet and just lets the world say what they want to say, the photos that were posted yesterday (of Brad and the family playing once again at Miraval) have ticked the actor off.

Brad’s lawyers, Lavely & Singer, are on the case! The lawyers are trying to stop the circulation of the photos that “were surreptitiously taken of Mr. Pitt and his family as they engaged in familial activities on private property, namely, in the privacy of the estate in which they are presently residing in France and where they had a reasonable expectation of privacy.”

The cease and desist letter has made it’s way to Jossip.com, where despite the last sentence of the letter, “This letter is a confidential legal communication and is not for publication.” they have posted a whole copy of the letter.

Thanks to a loyal reader (who knows who she is), we’ve got some photos of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and the whole family (minus the twins) playing outside the Chateau and enjoying themselves. Now, here is where I tell you that I actually feel very guilty in putting these pictures up, because I know that they were obtained by some stupid paparazzo who was flying fairly low to the chateau in a helicopter.

I am, however, putting these photos up because I am very happy to see the entire family healthy and happy, and because I know that there are those Brad and Angelina fans who are excited by any bit of information they can come by. As my loyal reader and friend put so well, “they’re my guilty pleasure”.

I will, however, put the photos underneath the more tag, so that those of you who do not wish to view them can refrain from seeing them.

While the world awaits the birth of the twins, Brad is still trying to have fun with the other Jolie-Pitt children. He was spotted with Bono and Robert DeNiro (three men who need only 1 name to be known by - Brad, Bono, DeNiro) having a grand ol’ time with Pax. Too cute!

The update? Still no babies.

It’s okay! I’m not upset, you shouldn’t be upset either! The longer the babies cook in there, the healthier they will hopefully be!

I have heard some rumors that Brad and a few of the kids (namely Shiloh and Zahara) have been actually staying at the hospital with Angelina. I’m not sure how true this is, but its a possibility. I know if I were to be in the hospital for any length of time, I would long to have some company as much as possible!

So while we wait for the newest Jolie-Pitts to enter, let us enjoy a glimpse of Brad and Angelina in one of their peaceful moments…(this was before they had SIX children)

I’m probably going to be pretty absent tomorrow - we’ve got to go check out yard sales and then will be lighting off fireworks later in the afternoon/evening, and since we’ve got quite a few people coming (which sort of just…happened), I won’t be able to spend much time on here! boo! I WILL, however, check to make sure that Angelina hasn’t had the babies (although some sites are swearing that she’s had them already but that they do not want the public knowing this yet).

So until Sunday, when I will be much freer, I leave you with a few pictures! FIRST up is the perfect woman. Some intrepid photoshopper had a lot of time on their hands and decided to create the perfect woman. Want to see?

A French website, Pure People, is claiming that Angelina will give birth to the twins at Chateau Miraval. They claim that her doctor believes that it is safer for her to deliver at the Chateau, and has set up a room designed specifically for that purpose in the villa. Apparently all is in readiness if Angelina and Brad decide that they want to give birth in the nearby hospital as well.

I love, in that picture, how it looks as though Shiloh has spotted the paparazzi! You know what this means? When she’s a teenager she’ll be really good at avoiding them whenever she wants

Everyone has been showing Angelina Jolie interviews due to Wanted coming out in a few short days. I decided I’d spend some time trying to dig up some Brad Pitt interviews, when I uncovered the best Brad Pitt interview we’ve ever seen - at least, in my opinion!

Members of the Santa Barbara Middle School Teen Press were able to go to the Santa Barbara awards ceremony and to get interviews by both Brad and Angelina Jolie. Remember this picture:

Those are the two students, Eliana & Harrison, were able to interview Brad and Angelina. I remember writing about the Santa Barbara Film Festival because it was where Angelina wore a loose fitting shirt over her dress, first fueling the rumors that she was pregnant. Their interview with Brad was amazing. Part of me wants to say it was cute, but the questions that these young journalists raised were excellent questions, and deserve much more praise than just the term “cute”. They conducted themselves very professionally (I would’ve been melted into a puddle by that point), and have my utmost respect for having the courage to interview some of the most famous actors in the world.

Their interview with Angelina was also excellent! Near the end of the interview, as she’s walking off, Angelina says, “Great interview! Best I’ve ever had!” If these interviews are a precursor to the future, Eliana & Harrison are definitely going places!

No, these aren’t new pictures of the family (unfortunately - or fortunately, depending on how you look at it). They are pics of the boat trip that Brad, Angelina, Maddox and Pax took that I hadn’t seen before. How cute are these pics?!
