Brad Pitt Watch

Angelina and Maddox headed off on a jet plane yesterday by themselves, leaving everyone to wonder where they went! I’m not sure, yet, where they went, but my first guess is Cambodia. It’s been awhile (to our knowledge) since Angie and Maddox have visited the clinic in Cambodia and I know that both Brad and Angelina want their children to be involved in their clinics (like the one built in Zahara’s name in Ethiopia).

Of course, they could be anywhere in the world, but that’s my guess. Where do you think they’ve gone?

And, for our added enjoyment, here’s a hilarious interview that Brad did with BILD - a German magazine. Enjoy the photos and the funny interview!

BILD caught up with him in a tucked-away Hotel bar in southern France guarded by two bodyguards in Hawaiian shirts. Brad Pitt was dressed all in black wearing sunglasses, suede shoes, unshaven and smiling.

We both wanted a beer but the bodyguards had scared off the waiter.

Brad Pitt: “You brew good beer in Germany.” He laughs. “My sunglasses are good for hiding puffy eyes after drinking.” They are from the 80s.

BILD: How would you rate your film if you were a critic?
Brad Pitt: “Lots of fun! I’m happy with it, because all the actors are great. Each one is a mini star!”

BILD: What does your wife Angelina Jolie think?
Brad Pitt: “She really likes it. She laughed a lot.”

BILD: You play an American soldier who scalps Nazi’s in a hit team and finally kills Hitler.
Brad Pitt: “Yes there’s a lot going on in the movie, we had lots of fun. You have some great actors in Germany.”

Til Schweiger, Daniel Brühl, Christoph Walz, Diane Kruger and Gedeon Burkhard all starred in the film. For a world famous actor Brad is surprisingly normal. He is relaxed, has a friendly voice and is almost humble about his fame.

BILD: Who is the real Brad Pitt?
Brad Pitt: He is sitting right in front of you. There’s nothing else.

BILD: Are you still a big kid?
Brad Pitt: “No I’m not a kid anymore – I have six children.” Maddox (7), Pax (5), Zahara (4), Shiloh (3), and the twins Vivien & Knox (1).

BILD: Have you found happiness in life?
Brad Pitt (nodding): Hm – yes. I am on the path I want to be on.”

BILD: Do you believe in God?
Brad Pitt (smiling): “No, no, no!”

BILD: Is your soul spiritual?
Brad Pitt: “No, no, no! I’m probably 20 per cent atheist and 80 per cent agnostic. I don’t think anyone really knows. You’ll either find out or not when you get there, until then there’s no point thinking about it.

BILD: Are you scared of ageing?
Brad Pitt (smirking): The grey hairs on his beard glisten: “No I like it. I think it’s good.”

BILD: What is your typical day as a dad?
Brad Pitt: “I get going early, make breakfast, get the kids dressed, brush their teeth and take them to school. Angelina is working at the moment. We take turns.”

BILD: Angelina told me once about your giant bed where all eight of you snuggle up?
Brad Pitt: “Yes we have a 3 metre (9 feet) wide bed, but even that isn’t big enough. They all come crawling in in the morning. It’s just about surviving! We all have sleep deprivation.”

BILD: Do you find the time to make love?
Brad Pitt (looks puzzled): What?

BILD: Is it sometimes just the two of you?
Brad Pitt: “Yes we make time for ourselves. It’s very important for every relationship.”

BILD: How? Do you fly off somewhere?
Brad Pitt: “That’s a trade secret!”

BILD: Your answers are very short and quick.
Brad Pitt (beaming): “Ha! I’m a father of six. You have to be quick and focused.”

BILD: What car do you drive?
Brad Pitt: I’m not a car person. I like motorbikes.”

BILD: You are driving from Berlin to Prague?
Brad Pitt: “Yes for fun! 2 ½ hours just straight on the whole way.“

BILD: How many motorbikes do you have?
Brad Pitt: “Sorry, but I’ve got a problem with that one”. He smiles sheepishly.

BILD: Why? Too many?
Brad Pitt: “Yeah! To be honest I don’t know how many I have.“

BILD: Has money changed you?
Brad Pitt: “It makes everything easier, but money can also be a burden.“

BILD: Do your rings have a story?
Brad Pitt: “No I just like them.“

BILD: And your watch?
Brad Pitt (checks): “Yes, a Rolex.“

BILD: Your necklace?
Brad Pitt: “From my girl.“

BILD: What is your most important possession?
Brad Pitt: “My family - and yes a couple of my motorbikes.“

Can I talk on the phone while taking a whiz?
No, you can’t talk on the phone! Do you want the guy next to you to hear your entire conversation? That’s why you should only text in the bathroom. Just be sure you don’t hit the wrong button and end up putting a photo of your junk on Twitter. Trust me, you don’t want those followers.

Is it OK to look at pornography at work?
Don’t just look at it at work, bring in your old porn mags and scan them there! It’s like converting your vinyl to MP3s. Fill up your hard drive, and when you need a break from spreadsheets, just open a favorite pictorial.

Can I answer my cell during a movie if it seems urgent?
Never. It may be a brief interruption-just a few seconds-but what if someone sitting near you is trying to make a decent bootleg? Did you ever think of that? Now all those street-corner copies are permanently defiled by your so-called “emergency.” Don’t be so damn selfish.

Our Rock Band bassist sucks. Am I a total jerk if I kick him out?
Who cares? You shred, he doesn’t. Fire his ass. Bonus: It’ll put the others on notice. Anyone who doesn’t keep up can hit the road. Even if that means firing the whole band. Remember: All great artists go solo eventually. Just think of Ronnie James Frickin’ Dio.

On his thoughts of tweeting a picture of his wife’s butt like Ashton Kutcher did of Demi Moore.
Don’t take a picture of your wife’s butt. That’s silly. Take pictures of other people’s wives’ butts.

Everyone lies online. In fact, readers expect you to lie. If you don’t, they’ll think you make less than you actually do. So the only way to tell the truth is to lie.

Who cares if your Warcraft wife is really a dude. If it’s good, don’t check under the hood.

Okay - first of all Brad knows about Twitter, which makes me wonder if he’s got a Twitter account somewhere! Do you think he does?! Secondly, he knows WARCRAFT!! Hilarious!

What do you think of the interview and of the pics?

Who says you can’t stay best friends with your ex? I know that everyone thinks that it’s not possible to be friends with an ex, but Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie are proving this rumor false. We’ve seen before how Billy Bob has nothing to say but nice things about Angelina, and he’s done it again.

In an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Billy Bob talks about his new movie, The Informer, his band, his girlfriend, and Angelina Jolie.

- About going to Cambodia to adopt Maddox: “I’m still glad I did it because it was so important to her,” he says. “Most people can’t talk me out of the house, but she did.”

- Defending Angie: “She is absolutely great,” Thornton says. “She is amazing. I love her. Anytime anybody says anything about why she has so many kids it kind of angers me. She is trying to lead a life that is really purposeful. She is still a regular person. I mean, she is not out to be a saint.”

- About meeting up with Angie and Brad: “I saw them just two weeks ago,” he says. “But, you know, they are not in town very often, and I don’t travel much.”

- About Angie’s intelligence:“She is extremely intelligent, and I mean way more intelligent than I would ever dream of being. I mean, most people I hang around with are smarter than I am. But I have a certain amount of street smarts.”

Angelina Jolie’s been plagued by scurrilous rumours of a marriage crisis, so she’s opened up exclusively to New Idea to set the record straight about life with Brad Pitt and her beautiful family.

“My life with Brad is wonderful ,” the dedicated mum gushes. “He’s been the best father- better than I could’ve imagined.”

Which aspects of your life with Brad have changed you- or made you feel more fulfilled?

I’ m a very expressive person. I’m so happy Brad’s someone I can speak to and who is very open in his feelings and his passions. I love that we can both be so honest and vulnerable together, and that I can always tell him about things I’m worrying about.Having that sense of being able to be open to another human being is what makes me happiest.

Will you and Brad have more children?

We haven’t made specific plans, but Brad and I want to have more children

And is it getting easier for you two to manage the six you already have, as they get older?

The twins Vivienne and Knox are getting bigger and so they’re a little easier to look after but, when you have a big family, time is always going to be short when it comes to making sure that all your kids have enough love and attention.I’m pretty relaxed about it all now. Brad’s amazing when it comes to making sure I get to take a break as he knows I’ll never admit to being tired!

Is there a difference between looking after the girls and the boys?

Zahara and Shiloh are much easier to handle. I’ve discovered over the years that as a mother I need to devote more attention to the boys. Pax and Brad have become great friends though, so I don’t have to worry about him as much. We try to spend as much time as possible with the older ones and they understand that the twins have needed a lot of my time. It’ so beautiful to see the older ones offering to bring me something if I need it or get their father if I need him .I love that.

How do you strike a work/life balance?

My main priority is family. Since changeling, I haven’t worked in almost a year, and after I finish Salt I’ll take most of the year off.

As the kids get older, will it be easier to work?

Brad and I are trying to balance our lives so we raise our kids properly, and are also trying to make sure we are fulfilled - as artists, as people. When we get film offers, we ask ourselves: “Will it be a good thing for the family?” I also don’t know if I want to keep making movies for the rest of my life. At some point I want to relax, look after my family and do more humanitarian work.

Do you feel as beautiful as you look?

Over the past few years I’ve become more like my mother. I’ve also become more gentle and nurturing and those sides of me are evolving. Being a mum has changed me in beautiful and positive ways. I’m much happier and fulfilled than I thought I’d ever be, especially when I was going through a lot of grief and doubt when I was younger. I hope it lasts!

“By nature, I keep moving, man. My theory is, be the shark. You’ve just got to keep moving. You can’t stop.”

This is just one phrase from Brad’s new interview with W magazine - who has got to be loving all of the money that Brad and Angelina are bringing them!

In December, Brad sat down with one of the interviewers to discuss certain aspects of his life and, of course, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Some highlights:

-On the Jen/Angelina situation “Listen, man, Jen is a sweetheart,” Pitt says, as if to settle this thing once and for all. “I think she got dragged into that one, and then there’s a second round to all of that Angie versus Jen. It’s so created.” Of his current relationship with Aniston, he says, “We still check in with each other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers. I don’t see how there cannot be [that]. That’s life, man. That’s life.”

-About being at Grant Park when Barack Obama was elected “It was just total jubilation,” recalls Pitt, animated by the memory. “It was the best rock concert that I’ve ever been to. Really. I could just feel it in the air. All the boulevards were closed afterward, and so we walked a half hour to the hotel. Everyone was just on a high.” Asked how he was able to walk undisturbed through the crowded streets (accompanied by Benjamin Button director David Fincher, one of the film’s makeup artists and Pitt’s assistant), the actor replies in an aw-shucks manner that evokes his small-town Missouri upbringing, “Man, nobody cared about us at that moment.”

-On supporting gay marriage “People who are against gay marriage do not understand the very freedoms that they themselves are enjoying,” he argues. “What if someone said, ‘Sorry, no Christianity here? No Judaism. Certainly no Mormons.’ No one would stand for that, and I wouldn’t allow anyone to say that either. I’d fight them in the same way.”

-On Curious Case of Benjamin Button “It’s not a classic love story in the sense of ‘And they live happily ever after,’” Pitt explains. “It’s two individuals who want to be with the other one instead of needing the other one to complete them. It was very important to us that each one was responsible for their choices.”

-On makeup for Curious Case of Benjamin Button “I got to help design [the looks] a little bit,” recalls Pitt. “I’d go, ‘I don’t really like what’s happening here with the jowls. Let’s kick these back a little bit.’ I’m sure that time will not be that graceful with me.”

-On quitting smoking “I’m scared to death of death,” he says—and he also acknowledges that becoming a father inspired him to give up a deadly 20-year habit. “I quit smoking,” he says when asked how family life has changed him. “That was the only thing that got me to quit. That was it. Done.”

-On his publicist “A publicist isn’t going to know as much as I’m going to know about what we want to do,” says Pitt. “It just becomes more people to talk to. Man, we’ve got six kids. We don’t have time for that. We’ve got to streamline. I make my own decisions for myself anyway. I’ve never seen a publicist that could protect me from things, protect anyone from what’s going on out there.”

-On the photo shoot with Angelina “We have fun working together; these things bring you closer,” he says of the experience. “And let me tell you, it’s really sexy to see your loved one through the lens. I went much further [than the shot of Jolie breast-feeding]. I didn’t show those.”

I’m still watching trying to figure out if they’ll be showing up, or showing anything taped, for any of the awards.

The title says “Best Friends of Hollywood”, and that’s definite spot on when it comes to these two amazing actors! The scans from this GQ french magazine make me wish that I had actually paid attention in French class in high school!! I’m sure one of you Brad Pitt Watch readers can help me to figure out everything that is being said in this interview.

I know it talks quite a bit about their individual charity work, and it looks like the interview doesn’t just talk about their friendship but also talks a bit about their lives. Can anyone lend me a hand in translation?

Also, does anyone remember the interview that Jane Pitt did on the red carpet where she showed off her amazing bracelet that Brad and Angelina had given her - the one that had a baby booty for every grandchild she has? It has been confirmed that it was made by Aaron Basha, a jewelry designer of some renown. His pieces aren’t cheap, though, and it’s been estimated that the bracelet Jane was wearing started off at $15,000 or so. Wow. Now that’s taking care of your mom!

Brad is going to be on the next cover of Rolling Stone, and even though I’m not a fan of the ’stache, I think he looks awesome. I love how blue his eyes are on this cover, and how his tie is undone. But what is it with the plaids lately?! They’re kinda driving me nuts. Here are a few excerpts from the magazine interview.

- “Angie and I do not fight anymore,” he tells RS. “What occurred to me on this film, and also with the passing of her mother (actress Marcheline Bertrand in 2007), is that there’s going to come a time when I’m not going to get to be with this person anymore. I’m not going to get to be with my children anymore. … And so, if we have a flare-up, it evaporates now.”

- “It sounded to me like the story made Angie out to be manipulative in some way. … She is savvy. But one of the things I’m most proud of is that not only did these guys who follow us and make our lives miserable and get in my kids’ faces, not only did they not get the money, but it went to people who really need it.”

- “When it came to the birth of our children, a huge bounty was placed on their heads. And people were going to go to incredible lengths to get it.”

- It comes as no surprise, then, that his favorite Jolie film is 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, in which he co-starred. Why? “Because you know … six kids. Because I fell in love.””

Pitt: That — yes, I am. I’m currently in Berlin [Germany] now, filming a Quentin Tarantino film. And I am a man with a moustache.

King: How are the twins doing, by the way?

Pitt: Everyone’s healthy, so we’re all happy.

King: Do you ever feel outnumbered?

Pitt: They’re getting heavy.

Oh, yes, yes. But, you know, our plan is that we’re going to give it all to them anyway. So, whenever they want to take over, we’re ready.

Brad’s on Ellen today! Woo hoo! Here in VT, Ellen is on at 4 pm - I believe it’s on earlier other places, or am I wrong about that? The minute I’ve got anything to write about it (hopefully the video) I’ll have it posted!

I am now on the hunt for the interview he apparently did with the Today show this morning! I’ll post it the minute I find it!

Once again Brad and Angie have caught the paps unawares! They popped up at the special New Orleans premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - so that’s why they’re in New Orleans! Duh!

The show starts and out comes Brad!

OPRAH:: Okay, so, let me just say this to you everybody. We’re taping this show the day after Barack Obama became president elect of the US. So I recognize it’s later in the month but this is actually Nov 4th, and we’re still vibrating.

BRAD: And we woke up to a new world.

OPRAH:: Brad was here in Chicago last night at the rally. I was going to the rally and I knew I was just going to be out with the people. I heard you were going to be in town and I was going to invite you to go but I thought, ‘well brad doesn’t want to be out with a thousand people’.

BRAD: the rally was an incredible experience. I wouldn’t have missed it. Got on the tram with everyone, shoulder to shoulder.

OPRAH:: Shoulder to shoulder – you couldn’t move!

BRAD: an epic event.

OPRAH:: well let me just tell you. Brad has a fascinating new movie that’s getting tons of buzz, it’s called the CCBB and it is - I’ve never seen a movie like this before. It’s the most unique and interesting new movie I ever remember seeing. It opens Christmas day and what did you think, Audience? Wasn’t it great? Somebody had to tell me, ‘you know that’s brad” and I was like an hour into the movie and I’m like, “that’s not Brad”

BRAD: Kind of, yeah, it’s kind of brad. With a lot of help from CG and David Fincher. They basically took all the CG that’s used to sink ships and blow up building sand kill monsters and took it to age the character from 80’s down to baby. The premise is he’s born old and grows backwards, all the way down to a baby.

OPRAH:: Brad ages backwards in this movie. He starts at 80 years old. It’s stunning. How do they do that? I want to see a movie about the movie. Then reverts into a teenager. Its so interesting too how your voice and movements and all that, and I was thinking how amazing, and then again, that is called acting.

BRAD: That is called acting. That’s what we do, that is what we get paid for.

OPRAH: Yeah. So I wanna talk extensively about that. But right now I want talk about you.

BRAD: Okay.

OPRAH: Because it’s been 4 years since you were here.

BRAD: Is that right?

OPRAH: Yeah! And what a difference four years can make.

BRAD: What a difference. Yeah.

OPRAH: So, since you were here, you’ve become the proud father of not 1 but 6 children. In four years – six children Brad!

BRAD: It is true. Actually within three years.

OPRAH: Three years, six children.

BRAD: Two a year.

OPRAH: Two a year. And will there be more?
