Angelina Jolie’s EW Interview!

Entertainment Weekly, oh how I love thee! They have got an absolutely amazing interview of Angelina up! Apparently Angelina is not on bed rest, as the EW interviewer spoke with her at the Grand Hotel du Cap-Ferrat in the south of France for their interview (although no one necessarily knows when the interview took place - it could have taken place a few weeks ago). The photo of Angelina above is from the EW interview - the necklace she is wearing is actually from the picture Maddox drew of a machine gun! I love how Brad gives Angelina the most unique jewelry, don’t you? Here are a few excerpts from the interview:
Entertainment Weekly: Do you worry that people will have a hard time squaring this gun-toting character with your role as a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador? They do seem quite incongruous.
Angelina Jolie: I am a strong believer that without justice there is no peace. No lasting peace, anyway. I’m somebody who’s
very curious about the International Criminal Court and supportive of following through on the arrest warrants in Darfur. I’m not somebody that just wants to hold up a white flag and say, ”Let’s all just get along.” I think people that do horrible things should be held accountable. I don’t think like in Wanted — which is an action movie — people should [just] be killed. I think there should be trials and justice. But the idea behind Wanted is not that she’s a badass assassin that just likes to kill people.
It’s that, if you ran into Hitler before he did everything, and you knew, should you shoot him? And I would. These assassins are getting lists: They find out who is going to slaughter other people ahead of time and they remove them. So that was the side of me that identified with her. But it is a confusing thing, certainly for rights activists. Don’t read too much into it. I am holding a gun, but there are so many people that have done so many horrible things… Pol Pot died a grandfather in the jungle, most likely of old age. Never was punished for what he did.
Clint Eastwood is one of our most famous Republicans. Did you talk politics with him on the set?
Actually, we don’t disagree as much as you’d think. I think people assume I’m a Democrat. But I’m registered independent and I’m still undecided. So I’m looking at McCain as well as Obama. Clint can teach me about things domestically and I’m more aware of some things internationally. So it was less a debate and more things we found interesting. But for the first few weeks I was just too nervous to get into any deep conversation!
In many ways you’re a very polarizing figure. People either worship you or they can’t stand you. Have you thought about why that is?
I’d like to think it’s because I’m not neither here nor there in my life. I think anybody that makes a decision about where they stand is going to cause strong opinions about them. But I think that’s what you should be hoping for in life, so I take that as a very good sign. That some people support me and some people really don’t like me tells me that I’m making decisions and I’m standing strong for something I believe in. I’m making choices in life. And that’s the right thing to do.
Is there anything you’ve said that you wish you hadn’t? Like all that business about wearing the vial of Billy Bob Thornton’s blood around your neck when you two were married?
No! It was never a vial anyway. It was like a flower press. It was like from a slight cut on your finger and you press your fingerprint in. It was kind of a sweet gesture. I thought it was kind of romantic! I still love him dearly and think the world of him and I’m proud to have been his wife for a time. I don’t believe in regrets. It’s a dangerous habit to get into — it makes you pause in your life if you start thinking back and questioning yourself.
What would you say are the best and worst things about being pregnant?
It’s all just so nice. You just really can’t complain about anything as long as you know the babies are looking healthy. The only thing that’s hard for me now is with twins and having four kids, there’s a lot of the doctor saying ”Stop picking them up as much.” But we’ve worked out a system where Brad just lifts them to me every time they want to come up. I just don’t bend down. I’ll scream, ”Honey!” and he’ll come running and lift them up. Or they climb on chairs, so it’s not as big of a lift. So we’re trying to follow doctor’s orders, but I’m bending them a tiny bit.
What did you make of all the brouhaha over Jack Black’s spilling that you were having twins on the Today show?
Poor Jack! Immediately when he saw Brad, he apologized. But we both told him very clearly that we had only waited because, as you do with any baby, but especially twins, you wait until all results are in on their health, and that we were past that point and if somebody had asked me directly, I would have said yes. So he didn’t do anything but take the heat himself.
You and Brad aren’t married. How do you refer to each other?
We have that problem all the time. I say ”partner” sometimes. ”Father of my children” is too long. But half the time people refer to us as, ”So, your wife this, your husband that.” We’ve stopped correcting everybody. It’s not a big intentional thing not to marry. We immediately were a family when we became a couple, and children were the priority, and we’re both legally committed to the children. And that seemed to be the right thing.
What would be your ideal way to spend a free Saturday?
I have a lot of those. Very simple things. On weekends we usually have family sleep. We always have one night a week where everybody stays up late, watches a movie, and stays in our bed. We have, like, a slumber party.
Is there intense competition among the kids as to who sleeps where?
Yeah, but it’s funny: The boys tend to want to be near Mommy and the girls tend to want to be near Daddy. So it works out nicely.

Vanity Fair Interview - Jack Black - and ET Apologizes…or Do They?
Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008To begin with, my lovely Isa made a comment yesterday about the Vanity Fair interview that Angelina did a short time ago. There are tons of beautiful photos and the interview is great. You know that I’m never one to do the norm, so instead of the photos, here’s a YouTube version of the interview!
Jack Black, the lovely actor who slipped and let the world know about Angelina’s twins, said in an interview to Extra that he honestly didn’t realize that the twins were not common knowledge.
“Then I thought [the twins news] was common knowledge.” but was Angelina upset that he let the news slip? “She was relieved because she and Brad didn’t want to hold in the secret.” the actor said. And a belated CONGRATULATIONS to Jack and his beautiful wife Tanya on the birth of their second baby, a son named Jack.
Now on to ET. As everyone knows a week or so ago ET made a huge, HUGE mistake. They swore that Angelina and Brad’s twins had been born and set the entire internet into a frenzy. They have now commented on this gigantic mistake and here is what they have to say:
“This is an absolutely huge, huge story for us,” said Sarah Ivens, editor in chief of OK! magazine. “Essentially you have two of the most beautiful, famous people in the world. We’ve all seen they’ve had one baby, Shiloh, and it is the coolest, most adorable baby on the planet. And this time they’re having two? It can’t get any better.”
It was “pandemonium” at the offices of Us Weekly when the “Entertainment Tonight” report was posted, said Dina Sansing, the magazine’s entertainment director.
People magazine was first to report that the story was not true. Us Weekly checked its own sources and concluded the same, Sansing said.
On Monday, Jolie’s attorneys advised news organizations that someone was posing as Holly Goline, Jolie’s personal assistant, and had sent out false information about the movie star. The source for the “Entertainment Tonight” report was an e-mail supposedly from Goline, said an executive at the show who did not want to be identified for competitive reasons.
Was “Entertainment Tonight” punk’d? Perhaps not, the executive said.
The show initiated its own contact with Goline after hearing rumors the babies had been born in France, said the executive. The person who made the contact was an “ET” producer who had worked with Goline while at CNN and kept Goline’s e-mail address, the executive said. The executive forwarded an e-mail exchange that appeared to support this version of events.
In the e-mails, Goline - or the impostor - said she was there for the deliveries and everyone was doing well. Pressed by “ET” for more information, the person said she could say no more.
“Entertainment Tonight” had removed its story from its Web site after the questions were raised. No mention was made of the story on Monday’s show.
“Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are friends of ‘Entertainment Tonight.’ We have spent years cultivating that friendship, working with them side by side on many of their projects,” Linda Bell Blue, executive producer for “Entertainment Tonight” and its sister broadcast, “The Insider,” said in a statement Monday. “We wish them and their children well. We are waiting to see how this story plays out.”
Does this sound like an apology to any of you? It doesn’t to me! Why can’t they come out and say, “we erred and would like to apologzie to the entire Jolie-Pitt family”? Is that too difficult?! And why are they saying that Shiloh is the “coolest, most adorable baby on the plant”? Hello! They’ve got three other children who, in my eyes, are just as adorable and cool. What do you think of ET’s “apology”?
Brad and Maddox Sighted in Mugello
Sunday, June 1st, 2008This weekend I had two sick children and a young, defiant 8 year old who we were taking care of as respite. And oh, boy, was she defiant. Here, however, the rules were outlined for her and she quickly realized that she could have a lot more fun here with the other children as long as she behaved. Her mother was very surprised at how well she behaved and we all hope that she is learning how to handle her daughter a bit more.
The situation, however, caused me to avoid the computer most of the weekend, and when I do, I find these!!! Brad and Maddox squelched labor rumors entirely when they showed up at the MotoGP Italian Grand Prix that was held in Mugello, Italy. The duo checked out the racers (wearing ear protection, of course), and Brad apparently even talked to the cameras with Maddox by his side - I say apparently because the video has been unloadable for me right now. I’ll check it again in the morning, but please go over now and let me know if it works! You can see the video of Maddox and Brad here.

Now Life & Style Is After Shiloh?

And while I dislike this cover immensely, I do have to say something - their photoshop tech rocks. A quick peek at it and you actually think that Brad, Angelina, and Shiloh were posed like this instead of it being two (three - fake background) seperate photos! They need to pay their photoshop techs more money…
Many were saying that Life & Style, who usually defends the family, would be upset over Star’s cover…after seeing their cover for this week, now I’m not so sure:
Why does Shiloh feel so left out? What, Life & Style had an exclusive interview with a 2 year old? Uh huh - doubt it! Unfortunately we can probably expect to see mostly junk in the tabloids from now until the twins are born.
Chateau Miraval “Long Term Lease”, Star After the Jolie-Pitts

The story now has been a bit clarified as to Chateau Miraval - seems that Brad and Angelina did not purchase the chateau, but instead signed a 3 year lease on the property. Owner Tom Bove told French newspapers that a “large international group” had taken possession of the home and vineyards (large international group - ha! Sorry, its funny to me, because what is the Jolie-Pitt family other than a large international group?). Rumors are still flying about, saying that Angelina will give birth at Chateau Miraval. Meanwhile I just enjoy saying the name of the property - Chateau Miraval - so romantic!
In other news, Star has decided that Britney Spears isn’t enough of a target and is now going after the Jolie-Pitts.
Star’s latest magazine has a story that is apparently told to them by one of the previous Jolie-Pitt nannies - here’s a preview:
The children rule the Jolie-Pitt household - throwing tantrums (in seven languages!), eating junk food-filled meals and obsessing over wild animals. Now, a nanny dishes the details to Star!
In the June 9 issue of Star, we report how pizza-and-chocolate breakfasts, dart-gun wars and screaming contests are all part of a normal day in the Jolie-Pitt household.
Angelina Jolie even told Star that lover Brad Pitt was “trying to” care for their four children, while she was promoting Kung Fu Panda at the Cannes Film Festival. That was a good choice of words. The whirlwind of activity at the couple’s $58 million rented Villa Maryland in St. Jean Cap Ferrat, France - and soon to be at their new rental, a $70 million home on the French Riviera - would leave any parent breathless, but that’s just how this mom and dad like it. “Angelina doesn’t believe in old-fashioned restrictions because she finds them oppressive,” a pal of the pair tells Star. “So her rule is to have few rules.”
So that means chaotic meals (each child can have whatever they want to eat), nightmare bath hours (the bathroom’s soaking by the time they finish), children chirping in all different languages (Maddox only wants to speak in French) and six televisions that are on around the clock. Making things even crazier, cellphones, landlines, fax machines ring around the clock and the doorbell chimes with constant deliveries of clothes and toys.
“Their friends in Los Angeles, New Orleans and even Italy all say the same thing: It’s insane,” says a source.
And when Brad and Angelina aren’t skinny-dipping at 2 a.m., they’re finalizing plans for all of their children to be in the delivery room when Angie gives birth to twins in July.

Christina Crawford Slams Angelina and Brad’s Adoptions

Once again, the wonderful Isa has found a great article written by Christina Crawford, Joan Crawford’s adopted daughter, that slams celebrity adoptions.
If you haven’t seen, or heard of Mommie Dearest yet, Mommie Dearest is a book written by Christina that was made into a film. It talks about how Joan Crawford adopted her four children only as a publicity stunt, and that she abused the children behind closed doors.
In order to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the book’s release, Christina talked a bit about something she knows a bit about - celebrity adoptions.
“I have tremendous concerns about celebrity adoptions by people like Madonna and Angelina Jolie. From the adoptee’s point of view, it is vitally important to know who they are, where they came from, or it can have profound medical and psychological effects.”
Angelina and Brad have made it clear that they want their children to know where they come from. They celebrate all of the holidays from their cultures and even try the foods.
I can’t talk about all celebrity adoptions, but I can say one thing for sure - Angelina and Brad have never adopted a child for a publicity stunt, and, in my eyes, Christina needs to retract her statement, as it is very slanderous.

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008Today I have for you some random photos that were taken recently of the family - I was going to put up a huge post about how Angelina and Brad are both wearing beautiful rings on their right hands, but:
1 - I didn’t want to start the “wedding” rumors again, because, frankly, I no longer care if they get married or not (don’t get me wrong, I’ll be excited if they do get married, but I’ll be just as happy if they aren’t.
2 - I found that I was a moron and left my daughter’s jacket at a fast food restaurant that is 15 minutes away from here last night - her brother’s jacket is still missing (I could never travel as much as Brad and Angelina do - I’d lose everything!), so I must run and get that and curse at the price of gas.
3 - I just discovered that one of our malamute puppies ate part of an extension cord that was left outside…still plugged in. *sigh* - at least it was my husband’s dog so he can’t get too mad - I must now try to figure out how to keep the dog from becoming dinner meat…

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008Brad and Angelina took some more time off together - this time to go toy shopping! My guess? They’re shopping for Shiloh’s birthday, which is on Tuesday. Brad looks a bit annoyed that the paps found them, and…what kind of ring is that on his hand? I know it’s his right hand, but still…

Monday, May 19th, 2008Brad (decked out in a new hat) and Angelina took Maddox and Shiloh out shopping yesterday (or today - the time change thing still messes me up) at Bonpoint in Cannes. It looks like Shiloh had a grand old time running around the store with Mommy chasing after her, and Maddox looked to be much admired by the store people! Looks like they all had a really good time shopping, and aren’t those clothes adorable?!
Remember, we’ll be seeing more of Angelina and Brad tomorrow as Angie does some press for The Changeling…actually, it may be early in the morning when we get the pics as the time is SO different! (If someone can help me figure out how that works, I’d be grateful!)

And this time Angie’s the one who’s getting a butt grab! Well…almost…
I love how Angie and Brad always make the time for their fans…

Thursday, May 15th, 2008I have satellite internet, which means that it doesn’t go as fast as DSL so I sometimes have to miss out on things online, like these videos of Angelina Jolie confirming her twins! Please let me know if they do not load for you and I will try to get them elsewhere.
If you missed it, apparently Dustin Hoffman let is slip that the babies are due August 19th! Maybe they’ll go early and share my birthday of August 15th! Or, if they’re born on that date, they will share the birthday of long-time Brad Pitt Watch reader Isacutie!
I also saw this morning during the interview with Natalie Morales that apparently Angelina was giving Jack Black some tips on how to bring his second child (Black’s wife is pregnant) into the world in harmony with his first one. She said that she and Brad plan a huge “welcome to the family” party so that everyone can feel involved with the newest arrival(s). This is similar to what I did when my daughter was born - we had our son choose a gift for her and we bought a gift for him from our newborn daughter that we gave him at the hospital, and let me tell you, it worked wonders. Good tips Angie!
And on May 27th, the whole family will be able to celebrate Shiloh’s second birthday! So many celebrations going on!!!

The Twin Rumor Hits Again
Tuesday, May 13th, 2008You’d think that MSNBC.com would be a great website to go to if you were looking to hear the facts. This morning, however, there is a strange story up about Brad and Angie taking Maddox and Pax to see the ultrasound on Mother’s day. Could this rumor be in response to the helicopter pictures of Brad, Maddox, and Pax?
I love the idea that Brad and Angie probably brought the kids to see the ultrasound. The story, however, goes on to say:
“Angie was due for a scan and they thought it would be cool to do it on Mother’s Day and take Maddox and Pax along to see the twins for themselves on the sonogram machine.”
This little tidbit apparently came from a family insider - but the family insider didn’t tell it to MSNBC, they instead told it to E! News.
So what does that mean?
It means that you should never trust MSNBC.com for your gossip needs, as they get their information from the same place that the rest of us do. The next thing you know they’ll be quoting dlisted.com, Just Jared, or maybe, even Brad Pitt Watch?! Hmmm…
