Brad Pitt Watch

You know, I knew that Brad looked somewhat familiar in some of the Burn After Reading photos. Take a look:

See, something about the way he looks was just so familiar to me! It took me until that exact photo, however, to remember where I’d seen Brad look like that before:

Fifteen years later and Brad still looks very similar to the way he did in Cool World! Long-time readers of this site will remember when I talked about how I was watching Cool World when I went into labor with my son! It was around 3 in the morning and I couldn’t sleep - I didn’t know if my contractions were real or not, so I got up and to my amazement, Cool World was on the tv! I’ve always loved Brad, and I love Gabriel Byrne as well, so that’s what I was watching when I was in the beginning of my labor. I actually managed to get through the last half of the movie before it was time to head to the hospital! So Cool World will always be a movie that brings a lot of memories back.

Actually December 6th is coming up rather quickly - my son will be turning 7. I have not seen Cool World since the night (or early morning, depending on how you look at it) that I was in labor with Toad. Wow! I can’t believe it’s been so long! I’ll have to check and see if Cool World will be on TV anytime soon or if Blockbuster is carrying it!!

In case you’re a morning person (or are a night person with a DVR), Brad’s going to be on the Today show…err…tomorrow! (that sound so wierd)…

I’m usually busy in the mornings getting the rugrats ready for school and preschool (it’s only 2 1/2 hrs of preschool, but Babygirl loves it) so I don’t have time to watch it, but I’m going to tape it and watch it when I get back from the preschool. I wonder if he’ll talk about their trip to his parents for Christmas!!

Finally there’s some video up of Angie on Good Morning American this morning! She was with Sir Anthony Hopkins to talk about Beowulf. It’s a really great interview, where she talks about not only the movie, but about how they celebrate the holidays in their home!

Angie: I’m sure no one wants me to be responsible for Thanksgiving dinner.

As for Sir Anthony? He just has “a bit of turkey”, and makes the gravy.

Tiffany Claus looks almost exactly like Angelina! She is a model and Angelina Impersonator. Her face looks extremely like Angelina’s! She’s got the lips, the cheek bones and even the hair! She doesn’t, however, sound like her LOL. Seriously, if you only watch one video this week, watch this one! It’s crazy! Especially watch how the people in the store react when she’s walking in the store with her cell phone! Now she just needs to find a Brad Impersonator!

Angelina Jolie

Brad and Angie headed out to a restaurant last night for supper - they both look EXHAUSTED still, but it’s nice that they were able to take some time out for themselves. Hell, I only have two children and my husband and I NEVER get time for ourselves!

Brad will be on Good Morning American tomorrow morning. I’m definitely lookig forward to that! Here’s one thing that he told Diane Sawyer -

“[The kids are] the greatest thing I’ve ever taken on. It’s the most difficult, the most rewarding and the most fun,” he said. “But I think this is the, the greatest thing I’ve, I could possibly achieve and hats off to all the parents out there… They say the funniest things I’ve ever heard. They’re the funniest people I’ve ever met. … One of the things I’m most happy about for my kids is that they, they have a mother I think, because she is, she’s amazing.”

Awwww - take THAT anyone that says they’re splitting up!!

Angie was recently on the Jon Stewart Show and had this to say about how many kids she wants to have:

“It fluctuates between seven and 13 or 14. Four is kind of kicking our ass, but we kind of feel like, ‘Damn it, we’re up for the challenge!’”

I wonder how many will be biological and how many will be adopted! They’re going to have to buy a bigger jet!

For those who didn’t know (which, I think, was everybody), I headed out for the weekend to celebrate my fifth year anniversary.

Apparently Brad and Angie did some celebrating too!

Angie took Pax and Maddox out to Marineland, where they got some up-close and personal attention from a few dolphins.

Looks like the Jolie-Pitt familiy had as busy a weekend as I did!

Angelina recently sat down with Ann Curry on the Today show (which will be airing again on Dateline NBC on Wednesday, May 23rd at 10 p.m.). During the interview, Ann gives her plenty of opportunity to refute all of the gossip that has been swirling around she and Brad “separating” - Angie refuses to answer. Here is the interview in it’s entirity, and here is the excerpt about her personal life.

Curry: So if I asked you, for example, right now — what’s something that’s untrue that you would like to say right now is not true… you wouldn’t know what was untrue that was written about you?

Jolie: No.

Curry: Nothing?

Jolie: No. I mean, I can assume. I know there’s a cycle of certain things that they keep rewriting or whatever, but I can assume things are made up. But no, I haven’t a clue. (laughter) And why would I, you know? There’s nothing I have to hide or defend. You know, I’m gonna live my life. And there are gonna be times when people wanna try to attack me and I don’t know why, but they will. And that’s okay.

Curry: It’s okay?

Jolie: Well, there are other things I’m more concerned about. My kids are healthy. I have a lot I want to do in this world. Before I do, I wanna do a lot of things as a woman, as a mom, and that’s my focus. At the end of the day, I’m gonna be dead… and what people say about me is gonna be what I accomplished and what I did in my life and how my children are.

Curry: Is there anything you’d like to say to people listening now because you now have an unedited audience here — an unedited opportunity — to give people to unvarnished truth about who you are and what you stand for. Is there anything that you want to say about yourself?

Jolie: No. I mean… I have always been honest about who I am, and I’ve always been very outspoken to press. I think people have heard a lot from me (laughter) over the years. And - and you do hear more, you know?… People wanna believe negative things, they will. And I can’t help that.

Thursday morning, on The View, the women discussed the story in the new People magazine that focuses on Angelina Jolie and her adopted children.

Her adopted children.

Joy Behar brought the story up by saying, “I think Angelina could single-handedly fix the immigration problem in the United States!”

Barbara Walters then went on to say how much she admired Angelina Jolie, and, of course, Rosie O’Donnell was gushing over the latest adoption of Pax. “Four’s a good number…that’s what I have, three adopted and one biological…one that was born to Kelly. I think she can stop adopting for a little while now.”

The women commented on the adoption for almost ten minutes and not once mentioned the daddy waiting in the wings, Brad Pitt.

I’ll throw my opinion in here and say that I think it’s absolutely wrong to ignore the impact Brad has had on both Angelina and on his children. Before Angie met Brad she swore that she would never have a biological child as there were too many children that needed good homes “out there”. Now she has Shiloh and also has someone to help ground her when her world spins out of control, as it did when her mother passed away. Brad is always willing and eager to take care of the kids when Angie goes on one of her humanitarian missions and Brad has even stepped in there to help Angie however he can.

Brad was in a comfortable relationship with a woman he’s been married to for a long time. Angelina had nothing to lose and everything to gain when he seperated from Jennifer. Brad was risking everything.

To focus on Angie adopting Pax and to forget about Brad just isn’t right…he’s their father and, from the looks of it, will ALWAYS be there for them.

Oprah’s Hollywood Special the other night was all about stars interviewing other stars. I think it’s only called “Oprah’s” special to get the Holly Housewives who think she’s their god to watch, as she was only in it for all of five minutes total.

Anyway, Julia Roberts and George Clooney interviewed each other, and lo and behold, Brad Pitt decided to join in on the fun.

*Phone rings

Julia: George Clooney’s house. Hello?

Brad: Julia? Hey, it’s Brad. Listen, I was thinking I would avoid the line of questioning about the Oscars. You know, I would stick with the [People’s] Sexiest Man Alive line of questioning. Who’s that [in the background]? Is that George?

George: Hey, hi!

Brad: Hey, how are you doing? We’ve just been talking about how great we thought it was that you were the two-time Sexiest Man Alive winner…and you know George, you’re a real inspiration, a real inspiration to us younger guys.

George: I just wanted you to know that I thought you looked great when you didn’t win at the Golden Globes.

Brad: Thank you, man. Thank you! And I think the plastic surgery is fantastic! You really cannot tell. You really can’t tell. Hey listen, while I’ve got you on the phone, I think the question America really wants to know and hear from you is what exactly are the responsibilities of wearing the crown of the Sexiest Man Alive?

George: Well, you did a pretty good job of tarnishing it for a long time and they thought they’d bring me in to clean it up again. I think I’m doing a really good job.

You’ve gotta love those guys!

Ellen DeGeneres thinks Brad Pitt got robbed when he was snubbed by the academy for his work in the multi-nominated Babel.
But the Oscar host was otherwise in agreement with this year’s nominations, she says in the upcoming issue of Life, which hits newsstands Friday.

“I love that the woman who plays the housekeeper in Babel [Adriana Barraza] was nominated,” she says. “It’s more fun when the nominees aren’t predictable.”

Brad should ALWAYS be nominated! Well…except for Ocean’s Twelve.
