Inglourious Basterds and Odyssey
I can’t believe I missed this photo of Brad in Inglourious Basterds - so here it is, Brad in Inglourious Basterds! I had a great weekend and I hope that you guys did too! I started off with me giving away gifts to two people (although I still haven’t heard from DebDee - and if I don’t hear from her before Wednesday I’ll have to figure out what to do), and ended with some play time with the kiddos and with my new camera (an early Christmas present).
But lets talk about Inglourious Basterds for a moment, shall we? To begin with, I’m going to probably make my readers upset when I say that I am not a Quentin Tarantino fan. Seriously! I’m not! I’ve watched a number of his movies, including Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, and the Kill Bill’s (both volumes) and even though I find the story intriguing in the case of Kill Bill, the movies just didn’t do it for me (ESPECIALLY Pulp Fiction - I seriously can’t stand that movie). So the fact that Brad is starring in a movie with Quentin as the director? Eh - I could take it or leave it. I am actually hoping that Brad’s acting outshines Quentin’s storytelling skills!
The weekend was also filled with news that there is hopes that Brad will be starring in a new movie - The Odyssey. Now, anyone who has taken advanced English courses in high school has read The Odyssey, and the first thing that comes to most of our minds is the idea that maybe we get to see Brad in a skimpy little outfit - much like the one he wore in Troy, right? Wrong. Warner Bros. wants to completely change the story and set it into…ready? Outer space.
If it’s anything like how they changed Romeo and Juliet and set it in the modern day with guns being named “dagger” in order to get around the wording, I will be staying far, far away from it. Okay, maybe not that far, as Brad will be in it, but I mean come on! Let’s let the classics stay the classics! Troy was AMAZING because they kept it set in the time period it was supposed to be set in! What do you think about Brad possibly acting in a space version of The Odyssey?

Hi Randi…Brad looks good in that photo. I like the rough look.
Actually, I like Quentin Tarantino, although I don’t also like all his films. I like how he’s very quirky and funny. He actually came here to the Philippines, I think it was to judge a film festival, and my friend was among the luck ones to interview him and she said he is soooo funny. But I can understand why you might not like him. I’ve got a couple of friends who find his many of his movies too violent and strange for their tastes.

thanks for this Randi - from this shot we can see the backdrop as well that we didnt see from other shots.
well, what a striking pose indeed - a very fine figure of man. and now we see why Brad has been coveting that hairstyle and goatee beard. Actors have to be so dedicated dont they - some have to don loadsa extra weight - that would be my biggest nightmare.
Am I getting confused or is Brad in-line for a FEW movies?? It must be so difficult to immerse onesself in one role for months, and then suddenly to morph into a completely different character.
Just seeing the trailers for ‘Burn After Reading’ makes me laugh so much as Brad is such a goof in it (in the greatest possible way)- and I think we get a peep into the way he must be most of the time with his children - so funny. The laugh he does in ‘BAR’ is so ridiculous I just love it and find myself laughing out loud with him.
I too can understand why you dont like Tarrantino as there is so much wanton violence BUT also such funny dialogue and spectacular action. here’s hoping you enjoy Inglorious Basterds.

He loks really beautiful in this photo. I usually don´t like Quentin Tarantino´s movies because they are so violent but this one I´m definitely gonna watch!
