Pitt and Jolie Ignoring the US
I don’t generally rant here…I save that for my regular blog
HOWEVER, I have to say I am appalled by Brad and Angie lately.
I am a licensed foster parent. Living in the small town that I do, you wouldn’t think that there would be many children in need of homes, but you’d be wrong. I see children who’s parents have neglected them, who’s parents have beaten them, or who’s parents gave birth to them while they were strung out, thereby subjecting the baby to have to handle withdrawls at only a few hours old.
Angelina is constantly saying how children in other worlds need our help. Here’s a tip, Angie, children in the US are just as needy! All these celebrities keep adopting from overseas…what’s wrong with the children in the US? You think just because we’re a “supernation” that all of our children are taken care of? Not even close. Children in our country are JUST as needy as those in others, perhaps even more so in some cases, because they get forgotten.
If Brad and Angie REALLY cared about children then they’d adopt here in the US and spend money here, as well, trying to make children’s lives better.
Shame on you two. The color of your skin should not matter: the neediness should.

I am shocked with your post . just have this to say…. There is many factors affecting decision made for Adoption (existing martial status, family blending, issues, regulation etc . To generalized it in a rant like yours makes you very petty.
Very simply example — why don’t americans buy a US made car vs a Japanese made car ? and many other similar questions in this nature .. life would be simple if there everyone thinks alike but no … the fact remains that everyone view the world differently and have a choice !

Every time I read anything about the upcoming adoption, I am frustrated by the lack of understanding. I have two adopted children from Guatemala. When I researched both domestic and foreign adoptions, I made the choice to go oversees for a number of reasons with the two main ones being the availability of infants and the fact that birth parents in the US often have years to decide to rescind the adoption decision. Adoption is a very personal choice and everyone is entitled to make their own choices when it comes to creating a family. If you use the thought that adoptive parents should adopt a child here in the US, you could likewise use the argument that couples should not have a baby when there are children needing homes. Angelina and Brad should be commended on their dedication to their family and the work that they do for children around the world. The adoption of the little boy from Vietnam has not been fast-tracked because of their celebrity but has followed all of the correct procedures. Angelina is well aware of adoption laws and Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, and their new son are lucky to have such loving parents.

Why does it matter where they adopt as long as they are helping a young child? You should be proud that they are trying to help the children of the WORLD and not just the US. People from all over the world dream to come to America with nothing and live a better life. That’s the only place they CAN find a better life. The US orphans are already here and can make a better life for themselves be it with an adopted family or on their own. Sure it’s not easy, but it’s a whole lot easier to make a life for yourself here than anywhere else in the world. Brad and Angie are doing a wonderful thing by adopting a child in need… whether he/she’s black, white, asian, latin. PERIOD

I think the issue here is that adopting babies from other nations is the new kabbalah. It’s a the trendy thing to do if you’re a celebrity.

hadnt read this before - I would think Angelina saw orphans whilst doing her humanitarian work and was so very moved by their plight that she wanted to do something very positive.
I think ‘noone’ expresses it well - at least orphans already in the US have the opportunity to pursue a better life. I guess Angie is giving non US orphans that same opportunity.
I hope you feel more at ease with this issue now . . . .
